Missouri unemployment edges down to 3.6 percent

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) -- Missouri's unemployment rate has dropped slightly.

Data released Wednesday by the Department of Economic Development show the seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped to 3.6 in March from 3.7 percent in February.

That's also slightly down compared to the same time last year, when the unemployment rate hit 3.9 percent in March 2017.

Employment dropped by about 185 jobs in March while the seasonally adjusted civilian labor force also lost about 1,300 people. The labor force counts people with jobs and those who are on unemployment but looking for work.
