Fire quickly extinguished at Jefferson City warehouse

A mechanical failure on a loader is believed to have led to a fire Tuesday morning at a warehouse in Jefferson City.

Firefighters were called at 11:02 a.m. to a vehicle fire inside at Federal International Recycling and Waste Solutions in the 2700 block of West Main Street, according to a Jefferson City Fire Department news release.

The first arriving fire company reported light smoking showing from an open garage door of the building. A loader used to move material was on fire, and firefighters put out the fire quickly with one hose line.

None of the contents of the building were damaged, and there was no damage to the building.

There were no injuries reported.

Crews remained on the scene for two and a half hours.
