A Jefferson City woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle wreck Sunday morning after failing to stop a stop sign.

Annetta Hamlin, 70, of Jefferson City, was driving north on Mississippi Street at 10:51 a.m. when she failed to stop at the street's intersection with Ellis Boulevard.

Her vehicle was struck in the side by a vehicle driven by Michael Townley, 23, of Jefferson City, who was eastbound on Ellis.

In a report, Jefferson City police said Hamlin was seriously injured and taken by ambulance to a Columbia hospital. Townley was not listed as being injured.
