Cole County Presiding Circuit Judge Pat Joyce announced Thursday evening that the circuit court would be closed today, just as it was closed Thursday.
All court cases will be continued to a later date.
She said no one will be penalized for not showing up in court as scheduled.
Joyce told the News Tribune the decision was made after Gov. Mike Parson said Thursday that "non-essential state employees in the Jefferson City area who were instructed to remain home on Thursday should also not report to work on Friday."
Parson said Jefferson City state employees "should expect to return to work on Tuesday, unless otherwise instructed."
