Capital Region Medical Center Healthy Schools Healthy Communities and the Jefferson City Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department have partnered to offer spring bicycle skills classes to help riders feel safer.
For $5 a class, participants learn various skills like riding bicycles on city streets, riding bicycles as an adult, selecting the perfect bicycle, commuting by bicycle, and discovering tips for how to safely bicycle.
Licensed cycling instructors from the League of American Bicycles host the classes, according to the city's website.
The following classes are available for registration:
A "Which Bike is Right for Me?" class will be available 9-10:30 a.m. April 6 at The Linc, 1299 Lafayette St.
"Stay Safe out There" classes will be available 1-3 p.m. April 6 and 9-11 a.m. April 13 at The Linc.
A "Moving Beyond the Greenway" class will be available 9-11 a.m. May 4 at The Linc.
A "Learning to Ride a Bike as an Adult" class will be available 1-2:30 p.m. May 4 at The Linc.
"Commuting by Bike" classes are available at any mutually available time.
Participants must register one week prior to the class start date.
