Absentee voting underway for April 2 election

Absentee voting has begun for the April 2 municipal election.

Voting in the Cole County Clerk's Office on the second floor of the courthouse annex, 311 E. High St. in Jefferson City, will continue through April 1.

Those who wish to apply for an absentee ballot for themselves or a family member who will not be able to vote at their polling place on Election Day should do so as soon as possible so the ballots have ample time to get to the clerk's office by 7 p.m. on Election Day.

The deadline to mail out an absentee ballot is 5 p.m. March 20.

The deadline to register to vote for the April 2 election is 5 p.m. March 6.

If you live in Cole County and are not registered at your current address, you will need to update your address. Address change forms are available at the clerk's office, open from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday though Friday, and at colecounty.org/clerk.

Residents can contact Cole County Clerk Steve Korsmeyer by calling 573-634-9101.
