A person was taken to a local hospital Thursday afternoon after what Jefferson City police believe was an accidental shooting.
Officers were called just before 2 p.m. Thursday to an area on East Miller Street near the JeffTran headquarters and East Miller Park.
When officers arrived, they learned an individual had been wounded in the leg and had been taken to a local hospital for treatment.
As of Thursday afternoon, authorities said they had not been able to find anything that would connect the shooting to criminal activity and said the person wounded was not cooperative when asked about what happened.
