The Missouri Department of Transportation is asking for public feedback regarding an intersection improvement project at U.S. 50 and Missouri 5 North in Morgan County, east of Syracuse.
The project will be awarded and constructed in combination with pavement improvements to U.S. 50 during the same timeframe in 2021.
MoDOT officials said larger vehicles find it difficult to safely and efficiently navigate the current intersection. MoDOT plans to install right and left turn lanes to easily access Missouri 5 from U.S. 50.
Construction will begin in spring 2021, and the project should be completed by winter 2021.
Motorists and area residents are encouraged to provide feedback and comments on this project at modot.org/central. The online comment period will run through Dec. 21.
