UPDATE: Dix Road overpass work delayed
The Dix Road overpass over U.S. 50 in Jefferson City soon will close to traffic temporarily as the Missouri Department of Transportation begins making improvements to the structure.
The project is scheduled to begin Sept. 11 and be completed by Nov. 1. Work will include improvements to the driving surface, bridge deck, traffic signals and sidewalks.
Dix Road will be closed to traffic at the interchange when construction begins and will remain closed for up to 15 days while the bridge deck is repaired.
Ramps onto and off of U.S. 50 will remain open throughout the project.
MoDOT officials said minor traffic impacts to U.S. 50 are possible, including short-term lane closures.
