A fire that started in a truck spread to a shed and destroyed both on Thursday afternoon in southern Cole County.
According to reports from the Russellville-Lohman Fire Protection District, the fire in the 1500 block of Waterford Road was called in around 3 p.m.
The owner of the truck had pulled up to the shed, and when he opened the hood, flames came shooting out of the truck. The flames spread to the shed, and the truck and shed were destroyed. It was unknown what caused the fire in the truck.
No injuries were reported. Crews from the Cole County Fire Protection District and Regional West Fire Protection District were called in for mutual aid to help fight the fire.
