Candidate forums on tap

Mid-Missouri voters will have the opportunity to decide several contested primary races Aug. 7.

The local races include Missouri Senate and House seats, as well as county offices.

To keep Mid-Missouri residents informed before they head to the polls, the News Tribune will be profiling the races leading up to election day.

The News Tribune also will host three nights of public forums for area contested races.

On July 18, a forum at Blair Oaks Middle School will feature Republican candidates for Missouri House District 59.

On July 19, three forums at Jefferson City Hall will feature Missouri Senate District 6 Democrat candidates, Missouri House District 60 Democrat candidates and Missouri House District 60 Republican candidates.

On July 24, the forum at Jefferson City City Hall will feature three contested Republican county races: prosecuting attorney, recorder of deeds and associate circuit judge, Division III.
