A second person has been charged following a chase with authorities Tuesday night in Cole County.

Paige Pace, 23, of Jefferson City, is charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, both misdemeanors.

Pace was a passenger in a vehicle driven by Aaron Session, 23, of Jefferson City. He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, resisting arrest and possession of marijuana. He was found to be on probation for first-degree robbery and is not allowed to be in possession of a firearm.

Deputies stopped the vehicle Sessions and Pace were in on Business 50 near Geld Street around 11:34 p.m. Tuesday, according to Cole County Sheriff's Department reports. When a second patrol car arrived to assist, Session sped off.

The pursuit mostly went through the Westview Heights area, making wrong turns and running stop signs. A deputy was able to get in front of the pursuit and set up a spike strip on Horner Street by Country Club Drive. The tires of Session's vehicle were spiked, deflating the passenger-side tires.

Cole County deputies, Missouri Highway Patrol troopers and Jefferson City Police Department officers continued the pursuit, which eventually ended behind Missouri Farm Bureau, when the tires on Session's vehicle wore down to the rims. The entire pursuit lasted less than 17 minutes.
