Nine bridges to be repaired in Miller, Cole counties

The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded a contract for the repair of nine bridges in Cole and Miller counties. Capital Paving and Construction was awarded the contract, after submitting the low bid of $3,702,897.

Under the contract, the following bridges will be repaired:

  • Missouri 17 over U.S. 54, built in 1972
  • U.S. 54 westbound over Little Gravois Creek, built in 1966
  • U.S. 54 eastbound and westbound over Wrights Creek, both built in 1972
  • U.S. 54 eastbound and westbound over Old Tuscumbia Road, both built in 1973
  • U.S. 54 eastbound over the Rock Island Railroad, east of Missouri 87, built in 1973
  • U.S. 54 eastbound and westbound over Business 54, both built in 1973.

The bridges will get new driving surfaces and guardrail.

The work is expected to begin this summer, with all nine bridges expected to be complete in fall 2019.
