An Eldon man was indicted by a federal grand jury for enticing a minor to engage in illicit sexual activity over a two-year period and for attempting to produce child pornography.
James Anthony Guthrie III, 36, was charged in a two-count indictment made public Thursday upon Guthrie's arrest and initial court appearance.
The federal indictment charges Guthrie with using the internet and a cellphone to entice a child victim in North Carolina, between the ages of 12-16, to engage in illicit sexual activity from Dec. 1, 2015, to Dec. 18, 2017. Guthrie is also charged with attempting to produce child pornography Dec. 18, 2017.
