Due to the potential for inclement weather and extremely cold temperatures, Jefferson City Public Schools officials announced Friday morning the groundbreaking ceremony for the district's second high school has been postponed.
Originally scheduled this Saturday, Feb. 10, it now will take place at 11 a.m. Feb. 17.
The school is being built at Mission Drive off Missouri 179.
Also at the groundbreaking ceremony, school officials will announce the name for the new school based on suggestions submitted by district patrons.
