Several injured in 3 Mid-Missouri accidents Thursday

Three Thursday morning vehicle accidents in Morgan and Callaway counties led to one serious injury.

Billie Sass, 61, of Stover, suffered serious injuries after being struck by an unoccupied 1995 Dodge Ram 1500 that rolled backward on Wilderness Drive, east of Wilderness Way.

Sass was life-flighted to University Hospital in Columbia.

The driver of the truck is unknown, according to the Missouri Highway Patrol report.

Also in Morgan County, a 2006 Dodge Magnum, driven by Michelle Boggs, 38, of Barnett, was stopped in traffic on westbound Missouri 52, east of Sale Barn Road, when a 2009 Nissan Murano, driven by Jean Smith, 74, of Versailles, struck the Dodge from behind.

Boggs and occupant Donna Unice, 60, of Eldon, were transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Smith did not suffer any injuries.

Boggs and Unice were wearing seat belts.

In Callaway County, Christina Orton, 20, of Fulton, suffered moderate injuries after a 2002 Chrysler PT Cruiser rolled backward and struck her while she was attempting to change the oil. The accident occurred in the 8000 block of Route BB.

Orton was transported by ambulance to University Hospital.
