Water main issue disrupts service at LU

Lincoln University's Tull and Perry residence halls were without water for about a half-hour Monday afternoon, but other LU buildings further south along Chestnut Street were expected to be without water service most of the night.

Officials said a break in a Missouri-American Co. water main along Leslie Boulevard initially affected service to the Small Animal Research building, LU's Police Department, Dwight T. Reed Stadium, the football offices and the two residence halls.

The break didn't affect water service to the Wellness Center, which is along Lafayette Street on the west side of LU's campus.

A specific cause for the break wasn't reported immediately.

Lincoln first reported the break about 3:45 p.m. Monday.
