Saturday wrecks cause injuries

Roger L. Cook, 64 of Westgate, Iowa, suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle wreck Saturday evening in Cole County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol said he was eastbound on U.S. 54 at Buffalo Road at 5:08 p.m. when his vehicle went off the left side of the road into the median and continued onto the westbound lanes. He over-corrected, causing the vehicle to return to the median, strike a road sign and continue back onto the eastbound lanes and overturn, coming to a rest in the median.

Cook, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to University Hospital in Columbia.

Jefferson City resident Erin E. Kemna, 17, suffered moderate injuries in a one-vehicle wreck in Cole County Saturday afternoon.

The Patrol said she was southbound on Frog Hollow Road, about 130 feet north of Rademan Lane at 1:05 p.m. Her vehicle partially ran off the right side of the road, overcorrected, went off the left side of the road and struck a tree.

Kemna, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to Capital Region Medical Center.

Jefferson City resident Kevin T. Davis, 18, had minor injuries in a one-vehicle wreck Saturday afternoon in Cole County.

The Patrol said Parker L. Deppe, 17, of Jefferson City, was westbound on Business 50, about 120 feet west of Route T at about 1 p.m. His vehicle ran off the right side of the road, traveled down an embankment and struck a utility pole.

Both Deppe and Davis were wearing seat belts.

Deppe was not injured; Davis was taken to St. Mary's Hospital with minor injuries.
