Freeburg man charged with drug, weapon, fraud and stealing

A Freeburg man has been charged with drug, weapon, fraud and stealing offenses after Osage County Sheriff’s Office deputies served a search warrant Wednesday night at an apartment complex in Freeburg.

Jarrod Hooker, 34, was arrested after the search, which was prompted after a report of the theft of a credit card device, according to a news release from Sheriff Mike Bonham.

Bonham said Hooker was booked into the Osage County Jail on possession and delivery of a controlled substance charges for methamphetamine, fraudulent use of a credit device, stealing for the theft of the credit device and unlawful use of a firearm for possessing a weapon with a controlled substance.

According to online court records, the drug delivery and possession charges and the unlawful use of a weapon charge are felonies — class C for delivery, D for possession and E or the weapon.

Fraudulent use of a credit or debit device and stealing are listed as class A misdemeanors.

Hooker’s bond was listed as $25,000.
