Three arrested in Moniteau traffic stops

Three people were arrested following two traffic stops this past weekend conducted by the Moniteau County Sheriff's Department.

Sheriff's department reports show both stops happened Saturday.

One stop occurred on U.S. 50 just outside California. The driver, Asonta Peterson, 25, of California, had a revoked driver's license and two outstanding warrants for her arrest. Her passenger, Elliott Alexander, 28, of California, had given deputies a false name and also was found to have active warrants for his arrest.

The second stop was also in California where a search of the vehicle turned up methamphetamine. Andrew K. Brizendine, 36, of California, was taken into custody for possession of a controlled substance.
