Four arrested in Moniteau County drug bust

Several people were taken into custody after a drug bust Friday in Moniteau County.

Sheriff's department reports show deputies worked in conjunction with the Mid-Missouri Drug Task Force and the Mustang Drug Task Force to execute a search warrant in Fortuna.

Deputies went to a property located at the junction of Route Z and Missouri 5 to make contact with a female at the property identified as Lacey Roach, 28, who had several outstanding warrants for her arrest. Those include a Jefferson City Police Department warrant for driving while revoked along with Cole County warrants for larceny/stealing as well as receiving stolen property.

Deputies applied for and received a search warrant for the property and found the doors of a building on the property to be barricaded. They eventually got in and located Roach hiding in the upstairs area of the building; she was taken into custody.

They also found Justin J. Simmons who had an outstanding warrant out of Jefferson City for larceny/stealing; he was taken into custody. Deputies later located methamphetamine and a firearm on another subject on the property identified as a Lisa Thoenen from Russellville and took her into custody.

Deputies then called for a K-9 Unit to assist in the search of the building and located what was described as a substantial amount of methamphetamine. Another subject identified as Francis Kempker who resides on the property in Fortuna was also taken into custody for second-degree trafficking drugs and hindering prosecution.

While being transported to the jail, Roach attempted to bribe the officer transporting her, Moniteau County Sheriff Tony Wheatley, the report said. She is facing a charge of attempted bribery of a public servant.
