The delightful children's play "Charlotte's Web" is the current production for Stained Glass Theatre.

Joseph Robinett with E.B. White created the play from their book.

It is the story and relationships that make the play. Wilbur the pig wants to avoid the butcher, and the other animals and friends help him to avoid this fate.

The cast of 24 is directed by Tina Brown.

The character of Charlotte is played by Olivia Anderson, and Wilbur the pig is played by Eric Richardson.

The sets and costumes in this play can be very simple. There are two sets, one for each act, with set construction by Mike Harvey. Debbie Becker and Stacy Skiles are responsible for the set painting, and the assistant director is Denise Thoenen.

Brown said the costumes have been provided by each character with the help of parents.

Wanda Brenner has stood in for anyone who has had to miss rehearsals. "In the summer, it is difficult to rehearse because of vacations and other absences," Brown said.

"This has been a wonderful experience for the cast and crew," she added. "It is our hope that audiences will enjoy the play and see the story of friendship and what people can do for their friends."

"Charlotte's Web" runs July 21- Aug. 6. Shows are at 7:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays with 2 p.m. matinees on Saturday. Call 634-5313 for tickets.
