Local law enforcement are trading their handcuffs and badges for aprons and food across Missouri as part of the statewide Tip-A-Cop event benefiting Special Olympics Missouri.
Law enforcement across the state will collect tips and help serve restaurant guests on in July.
Dates and places include:
5-9 p.m. Tuesday at Bandana's BBQ, 2336 Missouri Blvd.;
5:30-8 p.m. Wednesday at Applebee's, 3320 W. Broadway, Sedalia.
Tip-A-Cop is part of the annual Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) campaign. LETR, which includes an international series of relay runs and special events like Tip-A-Cop, is presented by more than 97,000 law enforcement officers worldwide to help raise money and public awareness for Special Olympics.
