CAMPO releases report on Missouri Boulevard safety

The Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization has completed a final report assessing the safety of Missouri Boulevard.

The report looks at existing safety issues for pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users along Missouri Boulevard, from Missouri 179 to West Main Street, and discusses steps to help alleviate the issues, according to a news release.

In late May, representatives of local, state and federal agencies split into teams to walk, cycle or use transit on Missouri Boulevard to experience any safety issues first-hand. The assessment was a collaborative effort with the Jefferson City Police Department, Public Works Department, transit division, Missouri Department of Transportation, Federal Transit Administration, Federal Highway Administration, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Capital Region Medical Center and the Mid-America Regional Council.
