Previously working as independent consultants out of their homes, the trio combined their talents under one roof selling trendy and fashionable accessories for $5.

Tina Cole's third local business venture is all about having fun with friends.

Cole, who co-owns The Xchange Boutique with Erin Gieck and founded TryFitness Studio with Carla Henry in January, opened The Hot Pink Door with fellow Paparazzi consultants Kimberly Heislin and Kishon Clarke earlier this month.

Paparazzi is a multi-level marketing company that employs independent consultants to sell fashion accessories and lead- and nickel-free jewelry, all priced at $5. Now on top of selling Paparazzi products at The Xchange Boutique, Cole will join Heislin and Clarke to offer a wider variety of accessories at the new Paparazzi-only shop in The Village Square at 1507 E. McCarty St. in Jefferson City.

"Considering it's the three of us doing it together, our customers and our guests will now have more of a selection because they'll be able to select from three people's inventory," Cole said.

Accessories available include women's necklaces, earrings, bracelets, rings and hair accessories, as well as some men's necklaces and bracelets.

Paparazzi consultants typically market their products at home parties hosted by friends and family, who receive free products in return. The Hot Pink door offers a fun, convenient place for those events to take place.

"The way that life is now, that old-time Tupperware party style doesn't really work. It's not really conducive to a lot of people's lifestyle," Cole said. "This way, we're hoping it's going to encourage people to host more events with us so they're not worried about cleaning their house."

Anyone is welcome to host a Paparazzi shopping event at The Hot Pink Door, which will open primarily for such events. Its regular retail hours for public shopping are 6:30-8:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Saturdays.

The Hot Pink Door - easily recognizable by its colorful namesake entrance - is located next to De Nouveau Salon in The Village Square, at 1505 E. McCarty St., Suite 30.
