'Peter Pan' takes flight at Little Theatre

The classic story of the boy who wouldn't grow up is the latest production for The Little Theatre of Jefferson City.

The play is directed by Cindy Jobe with co-director Cassie Williams.

There is a cast of approximately 40 actors of all ages from children to adults.

"This is the Mary Martin version of the play," Jobe said.

Peter Pan and the Darling children will fly with the help of ZFX Flying Company, which will set the rigging for flight and teach the cast flying techniques.

The cast includes Jamie Waier as Peter Pan; Sarah Cadey as Wendy Darling; Joshua Gernander as John Darling; George Bestgen as Michael Darling; Shane Bowman as George Darling; Christy Van Drunen as Mary Darling and Brain Harper as Hook.

Production manager is Jennie Wells, Patrick Clark is musical director and Katy Howland is choreographer. Maria Bish is costume designer, and Marcia Stegemann is set designer with set construction by Mark Wittenberger.

"I love the play in that it teaches us all to believe in a land where we never grow old," Jobe said.
