A popular east-end coffee shop in Jefferson City has closed.

Brew House Coffee at 1507 E. McCarty St. - part of The Village Square - initially closed at the end of March for remodeling, according to a post on the business' Facebook page.

Brian Campbell and Carlos Graham bought Brew House Coffee from founder Deb Brown in 2016. They also opened a second location - Brew House Coffee Clinic - inside the Jefferson City Medical Group building on Stadium Boulevard in November.

Campbell and Graham decided to sell the original Brew House location because managing both locations had become too much on top of their other full-time jobs, and they transferred management of the East McCarty Street coffee shop to Jefferson Roberts in March, Campbell said.

However, Roberts said Friday, "unforeseen reasons" ultimately led to the coffee shop's closure.

Brew House Coffee Clinic inside JCMG remains open under Campbell and Graham's ownership.

"People can still come over there and get the same great coffee," Campbell said.

Brew House Coffee Clinic serves coffee brewed from a special Three Story Coffee roast, as well as pastries and some food items like wraps and quiches.

Campbell said he and Graham are still looking for an opportunity to open another Brew House location on the west end of Jefferson City.
