Family Dollar announced the completion of renovations to its Jefferson City store at 713 Madison St. last week. The store will host a grand re-opening later this week.

The retail chain is in the process of redesigning stores to better serve customers with a redesigned layout, Family Dollar spokeswoman Heather Briganti said. The remodeled Jefferson City store will have several new freezers for frozen and refrigerated food. Check-out lanes were also reconfigured.

The location will re-open July 20, according to a Family Dollar news release.

The first 50 customers at a grand re-opening Saturday will receive a Family Dollar gift card for an unspecified amount.

"We are thrilled to be able better serve our customers in this improved store format," Briganti said in the news release. "We are proud to be part of Jefferson City and are looking forward to continuing our relationship with the community."
