Prep Baseball: Jefferson City 15, Holt 1

WENTZVILLE -- The Jefferson City Jays closed out pool play of the Midwest Classic with a 15-1 victory Thursday against the Holt Indians.

The Jays scored at least one run in all six innings of the contest. Mason Wall opened the scoring with a two-RBI double in the top of the first inning before Holt answered back with its lone run of the game in the bottom half.

Ryan Tadsen hit a leadoff home run in the second inning and Jackson Koch added a sacrifice fly to score Adam Scheperle four batters later to push the lead to 4-1.

Jefferson City added three more runs in the third, getting an RBI double from Tadsen, a run-scoring sacrifice bunt from Scheperle and a solo home run from Bode Schenewerk.

Eli Miller and Tadsen each drove in a run in the fourth and Koch added an RBI single in the fifth to make the score 10-1.

The Jays scored their final five runs in the sixth. Scheperle singled home Brody Johns, Ethan Lipp plated Tadsen with a sacrifice fly, Koch had a two-RBI double and Jordan Martin followed with an RBI double to create the final margin.

Lipp tossed all six innings, allowing one run on six hits and one walk to go with one strikeout.

Koch finished 2-for-4 with four RBI, Tadsen went 2-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBI, Lipp collected three hits, two runs and an RBI, Martin went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs scored and Scheperle added a 2-for-3 day with two runs and two RBI.

Jefferson City (3-4) will be back in action to open bracket play of the Midwest Classic at 1:30 p.m. today at Francis Howell Central.
