Prep Baseball: Blair Oaks 8, Springfield Catholic 0

SPRINGFIELD -- A seven-run second inning Friday night propelled the Blair Oaks Falcons to their third straight win, beating the Springfield Catholic Fighting Irish 8-0.

The Falcons sent 13 batters to the plate in the second inning. Harrison Lear had a pair of RBI singles in the inning, while Hayden Lackman, Warren Davis and Colten Bryan each had one RBI single. Evan McCullough drew a walk with the bases loaded and another run scored on an error.

Bryan hit a leadoff home run to right field in the fourth inning for Blair Oaks’ final run.

Bryan and Lear each finished with two hits and two RBI to lead the Blair Oaks offense.

Jacob Tellman was the winning pitcher. In six scoreless innings, he gave up two hits and one walk while striking out nine batters. Cody Pickett pitched the seventh inning, recording one strikeout.

Blair Oaks (4-1) plays two games today. The Falcons play Stockton at 11 a.m. at Springfield Catholic, then they go up Interstate 44 to play Logan-Rogersville at 1:30 p.m.
