The Capital City Cavaliers won two doubles matches to start Thursday’s dual, but the Missouri Military Academy Colonels had a strong performance in singles play to win 5-4 at Capital City High School.
In doubles, Trevor Vogt and Isaiah Schnobelen won 8-4 and Xander Schmid and Abhinav Pula won 8-2. Gaurang Mishra and Aniruddha Singh lost 4-8.
Winning in singles for the Cavaliers were Vogt (6-2, 7-6) and Schnobelen (3-6, 6-1, 10-8 match tiebreaker). Schmid (5-7, 2-6), Pula (0-6, 3-6), Mishra (0-6, 2-6) and Singh (3-6, 2-6) each lost their singles matches.
Capital City (0-3) opens Central Missouri Activities Conference play Wednesday against Sedalia Smith-Cotton.
