Prep Baseball: Iberia sweeps Cole Camp Classic

COLE CAMP -- The undefeated Iberia Rangers won the Cole Camp Classic on Saturday, defeating host Cole Camp 4-2 and winning 10-0 against Lincoln.

Iberia broke a tie at 1 against Cole Camp with three runs in the top of the seventh inning. The first two runs scores on an error, then Noah Riemensnider hit an RBI single to increase the Rangers’ lead to 4-1.

Riemensnider had two of the Rangers’ six hits, adding a double.

Rylee McComb pitched a complete game for Iberia. In seven innings, he struck out 10 batters without yielding a walk. He gave up two unearned runs on three hits.

Iberia scored six runs in the third inning against Lincoln to pull away to a run-rule victory.

Tanner Patterson had three of Iberia’s 14 hits, which were all singles. Ashtyn Duncan had three hits and two RBI, while Hunter Piggott had two hits and two RBI. Konner Drace had two hits and Brady Blankenship added two RBI.

Riemensnider pitched a one-hit shutout for the Rangers, striking out 12 without giving up a walk.

Iberia (14-0), ranked No. 1 in Class 2, plays Monday at Buffalo.
