Girls Soccer: Blair Oaks finishes 3-0 in Moberly Invitational

MOBERLY -- The Blair Oaks Lady Falcons finished 3-0 to take first place in the Promotion Group of the Moberly Lady Spartan Invitational, picking up a pair of wins Saturday against the Fulton Lady Hornets and the California Lady Pintos.

Blair Oaks opened Day 2 of the 12-team Invitational with a 2-1 win against Fulton. Becca Shaw and Hattie Meldrum each had first-half goals for the Lady Falcons, while Mayson Davis and Makayla Rollins each had an assist.

Anita Norred made a pair of second-half saves in the win.

In their second game, Blair Oaks set a program record for most goals scored in a single game, beating California 8-0. The previous Lady Falcons record was five goals in a game last season against Richland.

Meldrum had two goals to lead the Lady Falcons, while Addie Kekec, Kennedy Fitzpatrick, Kylie Hickman, Ashtyn McAleer, Leighton McCasland and Brooklin Yoder each scored one goal.

Meldrum, Hickman, McCasland, Brooke Lehmen, Lexi Gonzalez, Katie Roark and Yoder each had one assist for the Lady Falcons.

Norred made one save in goal in the win.

Blair Oaks (8-6), which has won four games in a row, hosts Fatima at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
