SEDALIA -- The Helias Crusaders JV competed Friday in the Sedalia Smith-Cotton JV Tournament.
The Crusaders had three doubles pairs compete in the event, playing seven one-set matches each.
Leon Gosche and Zachary Landwehr led the Helias doubles pairings with a 5-2 record.
Gosche and Landwehr beat Smith-Cotton (6-4), Chillicothe (6-3), Lee’s Summit North (6-3), Rock Bridge (6-4) and Boonville (6-5). The duo also dropped matches to Lee’s Summit North (3-6) and Rock Bridge (score not available).
Alex Wieberg and Barrett Koelling finished 4-3.
Wieberg and Koelling beat Smith-Cotton (6-3), Chillicothe (6-0), Rock Bridge (6-5) and Boonville (6-4), while losing to two Lee’s Summit North pairings (1-6 in each) and Rock Bridge (1-6).
Juan Baez and Sam Stonner finished the day 2-5.
Baez and Stonner beat Chillicothe (6-3) and Boonville (6-5), while losing to Lee’s Summit North twice (0-6 and 1-6), Rock Bridge twice (3-6 and 2-6) and Smith-Cotton (3-6).
