The Tuscumbia Lions won their third straight game Friday, defeating the La Monte Vikings 14-3 in five innings in the Calvary Lutheran Tournament at Calvary Lutheran High School.
Tuscumbia started the scoring with a six-run five inning. The Lions collected 20 hits in the win, with six players having at least two hits.
Damon Whittle led the Tuscumbia offense, going 4-for-4 with a double and two RBI. Bentley Boggs, Zack Cline and Liam Phillips each had three hits and three RBI.
Conner Burks had a three-hit game and Colbie Monks had two hits and two RBI.
Whittle was the winning pitcher for the Lions. In 4⅓ innings, he gave up three runs on two hits with five walks and eight strikeouts.
Tuscumbia (5-4) plays Stoutland and Calvary Lutheran today.
