Biden tax hike won't work

Dear Editor:

Paying their share: President Biden is talking about raising the tax rate on anyone making $400,000 or more.

In my opinion, this won't work because the big corporations will just lay off or raise prices to cover the taxes it probably won't pay. Biden is talking about taxing this and that -- why not look into taxing people who sue big corporations and get large settlements and their lawyers get a big chunk of it. I am waiting on a lawsuit from a person who wants to sue his parents because he didn't turn out like he wanted. This is pretty far-fetched but it wouldn't surprise me. There is no reason that they should sit back and reap big settlements and live lavishly. Other people have to live paycheck to paycheck and probably feel the brunt of the settlement by paying higher prices in stores, because the corporations are not going to take that big of lose.

Also, these televangelists you see in the early morning asking people to send money in and they will be rewarded by God need to pay their share of taxes. Of course, this is considered a tax-free church affiliation but they need to change the tax code on this type of organization, in my opinion. This is a scam but people are vulnerable.

I would write my congressman but his staff would probably shred it so it's not worth my letter. But these are suggestions, and I know that if they tax the settlement the corporations will still do what I said earlier. But it's better than some of those freeloaders enjoying their life while everybody else pays.
