BizBeat: Christy Drive Burger King temporarily closes for renovation

A local Burger King is temporarily closed as the business tackles building repairs.

The Burger King at 1923 Christy Drive has temporarily shut its doors and is expected to continue to be closed for several more weeks as the roof is rebuilt, said Henry Delouvrier, co-founder and managing partner of Broadway Restaurant Group, which owns the Jefferson City franchise.

The building was damaged in the May 2019 EF-3 tornado, and repairs later that year included addressing water damage, broken windows and rooftop air-conditioning units. During that construction, there were some issues, Delouvrier said, which is why the repairs are needed now.

In the meantime, Delouvrier said employees at that location have been offered work at the other Burger King location on Missouri Boulevard. He also noted that the franchise, like many other food service employers, is looking for new employees.

"We are always hiring all levels of our team and encourage the local community to apply at b-restaurants.com/careers," Delouvrier said.
