New Bloomfield teen injured in 3-vehicle crash

A 16-year-old from New Bloomfield received minor injuries from a three-vehicle wreck Friday afternoon in Callaway County.

According to the Missouri Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a vehicle driven by Richard D. Thompson, 64, of New Bloomfield, failed to yield at the intersection of Route Y and Callaway County Road 363, entering the road and getting hit by a vehicle driven by Nathan D. Goans, 26, of New Bloomfield. A third vehicle, driven by an unnamed male 16-year-old from New Bloomfield, then struck the rear of Goans' vehicle.

The crash occurred at about 3:30 p.m. Friday. All three drivers were wearing seat belts and the teen was transported to St. Marys Hospital with minor injuries.

A Fulton man was seriously injured after a one-vehicle crash in Callaway County.

Cody C. Watson, 21, was driving south on County Road 183, just north of County Road 1002, at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday when he went off the left side of the road, over-corrected and returned to the road only to go off the left side and overturn.

Watson was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was transported to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
