The Yard of the Month selection will continue in 2016.
The local program is a joint effort of the Bittersweet Garden Club and the Central Missouri Master Gardeners, in partnership with the Jefferson City News Tribune.
Area residents are encouraged to nominate gardens maintained by their owner within six miles of the Jefferson City limits.
Applications are available online and at the News Tribune office, 210 Monroe St.
Yards will be selected by committee visit with the following monthly emphasis: May - spring, June - summer, July - summer, August - water feature, September - fall and October - fall.
Evaluations will include guidelines listed by the Federated Garden Clubs of Missouri at www.gardenclubsofMissouri.org.
Winning owners must be willing to allow the public to view their gardens, and a sign will be displayed in their front yard for several weeks. Winners also will receive a certificate suitable for framing.
And the News Tribune will publish a photo and story about each selected garden.
