Maty Mauk's future at Missouri is in question following a video posted to Twitter on Monday.
A video appearing to show the Missouri quarterback snorting a line of cocaine was posted to Twitter at 8:56 p.m. Monday. Less than two hours later, Mauk was indefinitely suspended from the team by head coach Barry Odom and director of athletics Mack Rhoades, multiple sources reported.
"We are currently gathering information regarding the video in question. This is an issue we take very seriously and one that will not be tolerated within our program," read a joint statement from Rhoades and Odom shared by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "We will take appropriate action once we have all the facts. In the interim, Maty Mauk has been indefinitely suspended from the Mizzou football program."
Mauk missed the final eight games of the 2015 season due to suspension. He was initially suspended Sept. 29 for an undisclosed violation of team policies. He was reinstated Oct. 25, but was suspended Nov. 1 for the remainder of the season after reportedly being involved in a confrontation at the Field House bar in Columbia.
Mauk played four games in place of an injured James Franklin in 2013 as Missouri reached its first Southeastern Conference championship game and quarterbacked the team to another division title in 2014.
Last month, Odom confirmed Mauk had been reinstated.
The suspension comes less than a week after Missouri indefinitely suspended defensive tackle Terry Beckner Jr., who was arrested Wednesday for possession of less than 35 grams of marijuana.
