Old fire station sold to Major Interiors

Jefferson City officials have finalized the sale of old Fire Station No. 3 to Major Interiors, an interior design business currently on Heisinger Road.

City Attorney Drew Hilpert said the property was sold for $169,000 to Jason Lale of Major Interiors.

The old station on Industrial Drive opened in 1967 and was replaced with a new facility on Missouri 179 in 2014.

The city split the property in 2014 and approved rezoning 1.23 acres from residential zoning to neighborhood commercial to facilitate the sale.

The remaining property will be kept by the city as a cell tower is located there and the city will retain a portion of the front property to access the back portion.
