SENECA, Mo. - The Blair Oaks Falcons advanced eight wrestlers out of districts to the Class 1 state tournament.
"This was a good day for us," Blair Oaks coach Tim Karsten said Saturday. "We had seven wrestlers seeded in the tournament, we got eight to state, that's always good."
Frankie Falotico won the district title at 145 pounds for the Falcons.
After winning his first two matches by fall, the senior posted a 2-1 victory against Trey Smith of Seneca in the title match. Falotico was second in the state at 132 pounds last season, while Smith was second at 126.
Tanner Lueckenhoff was second in the district at 220 for Blair Oaks. Riley Boeckman was third at 182, as was Chance Cumpton at 285,
Finishing fourth were London Gaydos at 126, Bo Thomas at 132 and Paul Karsten at 170.
Blair Oaks finished third in the district tournament team standings with 151 points. Seneca was first with 251.5, while Versailles was second with 178.5.
"Now its time to get back to work and get ready for state," Tim Karsten said.
The Class 1 state tournament begins Thursday at Mizzou Arena.

The Fatima Comets advanced four wrestlers to state.
Caleb Schroeder won the title at 152 pounds for Fatima, defeating Dalton Schmidt of Versailles 7-2 in the championship match.
Cody Huhn of Fatima was second at 138, while Kagan Froning at 106 and Clayton Haslag at 113 were both fourth.
Fatima finished seventh in the team standings with 72.5 points.

The Versailles Tigers will send nine wrestlers to the state tournament.
Three Tigers - Adam Guinn at 160 pounds, Dylan Ballew at 182 and Jacob Aeschbacher at 195 - captured individual district titles.
Guinn won three of his four district matches by fall, including in the title match against Jackson Evans of Centralia.
Ballew won twice by fall before posting a 6-1 victory against Andrew Robb of Hallsville for the title.
Aeschbacher, who also won his first two matches by fall, took the title with an 18-10 major decision against Colton Renfro of Diamond.
Dalton Schmidt at 152 and Willie Schotte at 170.= were both second for Versailles.
Taking third were Clayton Coleman at 106. Konner Shewmaker at 126 and Jacob Vogt third at 138. Kooper Wison fourth at 120.
Versailles was second in the team standings with 178.5 points.
