Jefferson City heroin dealer charged

An admitted known heroin dealer is facing multiple drug charges.

Shandon Johnson, 30, of 428 Christopher Place, is charged with possession of heroin, unlawful use of drug paraphernalia and unlawful use of a weapon.

A Jefferson City Police Department probable cause statement shows the MUSTANG Drug Task Force and the police department's SWAT team executed a search warrant at Johnson's residence on the evening of Feb. 1.

Detectives found approximately 9 grams of heroin, packaging material, three digital scales, $2,000 in cash and a 9mm handgun along with two magazines of ammunition.

Johnson told authorities the money recovered was to be used to pay his source for the heroin, and the reason he had the gun was he had been robbed in the past.

Johnson was considered a flight risk because he has ties to Chicago. Authorities said while Johnson doesn't use heroin, he admitted to selling the drug to Jefferson City residents the past several months.
