Jays lead area golf squads at C.C. Invitational

The Jefferson City Jays were fifth to lead local teams Monday in the Capital City Invitational at Meadow Lake Acres Country Club.

The Jays shot a 328 in the 22-team event. Helias finished tied with Wentzville Holt for ninth at 337, one shot better than Blair Oaks. Southern Boone was 14th at 342, while Fatima was 19th at 372.

Rock Bridge, which had three players finish among the top 10 individuals, took team honors at 309. Warrensburg was second (321), followed by Francis Howell (324) and Rockhurst (326).

Kent Uhlmann paced the Jays, tying for ninth in the individual standings with a 79. Gabe Trowbridge finished with an 80 for Jefferson City. Nathan Erickson (84) and Austin Siebeneck (85) rounded out Jefferson City’s individuals used for the team score.

Dalton Roark totaled an 82 to lead Helias. Jack Rundle added an 84 while Cole Higgins shot an 85 and Ethan Johnson had an 86 for the Crusaders.

Tanner Elder of Blair Oaks finished second as an individual with a 75. Jake VanRonzelen added an 84, while Kyle Backes shot an 86 and Braydon Pemberton totaled a 93.

Walker Kesterson tied for third for Southern Boone with a 76.

Austin Eisterhold led Fatima with an 82.

Gannon Withers of New Bloomfield finished with an 83.

Ross Steelman of Rock Bridge was the medalist with a 71.
