Your Opinion: Target and transgenders

Dear Editor:

Well folks the destruction of our culture and the compromising of our women and children’s privacy and security seems to be coming to our fair city if not here already.

I call your attention to a April 20 article by Warner Todd Huston “Target Stores Open Women’s Bathrooms, Changing Rooms to Men.” (http://www.breitbart.com/big-government/2016/04/20/target-stores-open-womens-bathrooms-changing-rooms-to-men/).

“The Target department store chain has jumped into the transgender bathroom debate by declaring that men who claim to be women may use whatever bathroom or changing room they choose.” “Inclusivity is a core belief at Target,” a new company statement reads. “It’s something we celebrate. We stand for equality and equity, and strive to make our guests and team members feel accepted, respected and welcomed in our stores and workplaces every day.”

“A recent study of the 2010 census showed that only 89,667 adults had changed their names from one sex to another. That’s roughly 1 in 2,500 adults. Advocates of greater status for people who live like people of the opposite sex, however, say one in every 400 American adults are transgender.” I wonder how many of the 1 in 400 adults are just predators and not real transgenders?

“On April 19, a three-judge federal court announced that schools cannot stop girls who claim to be boys from using boys’ bathrooms. The decision, however, will make it impossible for schools to have bathrooms just for boys or just for girls.” I wonder when you politicians and judges are going to grow a backbone and start representing the other 399 of 400 of us citizens.

North Carolina is one state that has had the courage to fight this onslaught against its citizen’s privacy and security. The North Carolina Public Facilities Privacy & Security Act, House Bill 2, “legislates that individuals only use bathrooms that correspond to their biological sex, defined in the bill as the sex appearing on the individual’s birth certificate.” What a concept but I wonder how long it will before it’s struck down by the Supreme Court.

I don’t know about you, but I really don’t expect much change in direction (except to possibly get worse) if either Trump or Clinton get elected. God help us!
