LSU finishes baseball sweep of Missouri

COLUMBIA — The LSU Tigers completed a three-game sweep of the Missouri Tigers by rolling to a 15-2 win Sunday.

LSU outhit Missouri 20-8 in the victory and did not commit an error while Missouri had five.

LSU took control of the game with a five-run top of the first inning and never looked back. It added two in the fifth, five in the seventh and three in the ninth while Missouri had single tallies in the second and fifth innings.

Brett Bond did the bulk of the damage for the Missouri offense, as he was 3-for-4 with one RBI. No other Missouri player had more than one hit.

LSU is now 25-11 overall and 9-6 in the Southeastern Conference, while Missouri is 20-18 and 4-11.

Missouri returns to action Friday with the opener of a three-game set at South Carolina.
