Boys Golf: Jays, Helias compete at Sedalia Smith-Cotton Invitational

SEDALIA — The Jefferson City Jays finished fourth while the Helias Crusaders were sixth Monday at the Sedalia Smith-Cotton Invitational.

Jefferson City carded a 314, while Helias finished with a 324. Logan-Rogersville won the 18-team event with a 306, one shot better than Pembroke Hill. Warrensburg was third with a 313, while Rock Bridge was fifth with a 315.

Nathan Erickson led Jefferson City’s individuals, tying for ninth with a 77. Gabe Trowbridge, Kent Uhlmann and Brett Trowbridge all added 79s.

Jack Rundle paced Helias, also tying for ninth with a 77. Curtis Campbell was next with an 81, while Cole Higgins shot an an 82 and Nick Alexander carded an 84.

Jefferson City and Helias are both back in action Wednesday at the Laker Invitational in Camdenton.

Eldon finished 14th as a team with a 363. Spencer Rogers finished with an 86 to lead the Mustangs. Dalton Shoemate added an 88, while Austin Grisham had a 91. Christian Potucels and Breckin Blankenship both had 98s.

Tipton was 16th as a team with a 366. Tristan Bolin paced the Cardinals with a 79. Brock Bookout added an 86, while Bryant Carpenter had a 97 and Daniel Buschjost carded a 104.

William Esery of Pembroke Hill was the medalist with a 72.
