Your Opinion: Don't be so quick to eliminate paper

Dear Editor:

I enjoyed a recent letter where the author questioned "mandatory" instant messaging of employment applications.

He suggested that this might be discriminatory to "aging population and the disadvantaged."

Often we hear people bragging about working toward a "paperless office." Is this progress?

I strongly suspect that there are situations where paper may be superior to computers. It is more difficult to accidentally delete information on paper.

Different people have different skills. Might we create situations where people with paper skills and people with computer skills cooperate toward the betterment of the team?

I thank the gentleman for speaking up on this issue.
