Track and Field: Blair Oaks girls take first

WESTPHALIA - The Blair Oaks girls track and field team took first Tuesday at the Rick Buersmeyer Invitational.

The Lady Falcons totaled 118 points with Fatima taking second at 92.

Team scores for the boys were not available.

All four of the relay teams won for the Lady Falcons. The 4x100-meter relay team of Sarah Ferrell, Olivia Seig, Alexa Stegemann and Jessie Holstein took first in 54.85. Kayla Jones, Seig, Stegemann and Ferrell finished the 4x200-meter relay in 1:55.86.

Kayla Jones, Emily Yaeger, Kallie Kerperin and Taylor Scott ran the 4x400-meter relay in 4:32.91. Yaeger, Grace Scott, Kristina Wortmann and Taylor Scott made up the 4x800-meter relay team that took first in 10:43.

Rebecca Schroeder and Cassie Twehus each won an individual event.

Schroeder ran the 300-meter hurdles in 54.21. Twehus recorded a 34-6 in the shot put. Cassidy Prenger took third in the shot put, recording a distance of 31-1.

Stegemann finished runner up in the 100-meter hurdles (18.41).

In the 800-meter run, Taylor Scott (2:35.19) and Yaeger (2:36.19) took second and third, respectively.

Taylor Wolf took second in the high jump (4-6). In the triple jump, Ferrell leaped 31-3 to take second. Ferrell also placed third in the 100-meter dash (14.31). Kayla Jones took third in the 400-meter dash (1:06.49).

On the boys side, three Blair Oaks relay teams won their events.

In the 4x200-meter relay, Dalton Bridges, Ben Thomas, Jordan Brenneke and Paul Karsten finished in 1:38. Karsten, Bo Thomas, Jason Otto and Ben Thomas ran the 4x400-meter relay in 3:36.

Cole Brenneke, Adam McCauley, Bo Thomas and Otto made up the the 4x800-meter relay, finishing in 9:00.

The 4x100-meter relay team of Travis Adam, Colin Prenger, Jordan Brenneke and Jeremy Forck placed second in 48.80.

Kaleb Cox was the lone individual winner for the Falcons, recording a distance of 135-7 in the discus.

Bo Thomas placed second in the 800-meter run (2:15), while Otto finished runner-up in the 1,600-meter run (5:00). Cole Brenneke was second in the 3,200-meter run (10:59).

Blair Oaks will compete Tuesday at Union.
