Dear Editor:
As a resident and owner of a dairy farm in rural Cole County, I would like to encourage everyone to vote "yes" on Proposition A in Tuesday's election.
Our Cole County employees have delivered as promised on the projects made possible by Proposition A for the last 30 years. Roads, bridges and thoroughfares are essential to commuting in Cole County for many reasons. Our school buses, emergency vehicles, law enforcement professionals and delivery trucks travel these roads daily - not to mention each person reading this letter who travel the roads to work, home, church, grocery store, etc. Our roads are so much a part of our daily life; we sometimes take them for granted.
Voting "yes" on Proposition A will allow Cole County to continue maintenance and improvements in the investments we have already made. Successfully managing our roads and bridges is no different than running a good dairy farm or any other business. Daily improvements must be made in order to ensure things run smoothly, safely and efficiently. It just makes good business sense.
Please vote "yes" April 5 on Proposition A to keep our county moving forward.
